Hey friend,

First newsletter of December and another year is almost done. Sheesh there have been massive changes this year. I need to write my annual review and goals for 2025. That should come out in a newsletter soon so stay tuned for that.

Some Thoughts

I did an interesting thought exercise this week. Iā€™ll call it the ā€œwhat would I doā€ exercise. It originally comes from Tony Robins. I asked myself; ā€œWhat would I do if I was the worldā€™s best project manager?ā€. Iā€™ll tell you the answer to that question in a future newsletter. But the exercise is important. Substitute in your own questions and use the answers to guide your next steps. What would I do if I was ā€œan amazing dadā€ or ā€œa leader in the business worldā€ or ā€œtaking charge of my healthā€. Let me know what you come up with.

What you will learn this week:

Mastering Programme Management: A Step-by-Step Guide

Welcome, fellow project management professionals, to a comprehensive guide on mastering Programme Management. As seasoned project managers, we understand the complexities and challenges that come with overseeing multiple projects within a programme. In this guide, we will delve into the essential steps and strategies to effectively manage programmes, drawing from years of hands-on experience and successful project implementations.

Introduction

Programme management is a discipline that coordinates and aligns multiple interrelated projects with the aim of achieving strategic business objectives. Unlike project management, which focuses on the execution of individual projects, programme management deals with the holistic view of how various projects fit together to deliver value to an organization. It involves defining the overall programme strategy, establishing governance structures, allocating resources, managing dependencies and risks, and ensuring that all projects within the programme are aligned with the organizationā€™s goals. Programme managers oversee the collective progress of projects, facilitating communication and collaboration among project teams while maintaining a clear line of sight on the broader objectives.

Welcome to our weekly newsletter! 2 February 2025 Hey friend, I've noticed a pattern. I feel anxiety. It builds for a few days. I notice everyone hates me. Nobody talks to me. I feel isolated. I wonder what I did wrong. Eventually I take out my journal and write about how I feel. The next day... nobody seems to be rude to me. Everyone chats to me. I feel free. I feel less anxious. Now did they change? Did I go from unpopular to popular by magic? No. Clearly not. The reality is that nothing...

Welcome to our weekly newsletter! 26 January 2025 Hey friend, I spent the last week thinking about the cost/benefit of my work. Am I doing too much? Is it costing me too much in other areas of my life? Should I be proud of myself for my efforts or should I be going harder? Do you ever wonder the same thing? Some Thoughts How can work make you happy? Well, to make you happy it should do two things. 1. Give you success that you have earned. 2. Include some service to others. When you feel like...

Welcome to our weekly newsletter! 19 January 2025 Hey friend, I have a little analogy for you this week. Imagine flying a plane. Taking off is the hardest part right? Then its just cruise. The same thing applies to learning. The beginning is the hard part. But don't give up. It gets easier. Some Thoughts Podcaster Dr Chatterjee used a really interesting phrase which I thought Iā€™d share. He talked about putting the ā€œspotlight of gratitudeā€ on your life. Taking the time to focus on little...
