Hey friend,

I've been asking myself these two questions lately:

Am I Too Content? Do I Have Too Little Ambition?

I honestly worry about it. I've made it pretty far up the corporate ladder but I don't want to go further. I like it here. It's a nice blend of influence and freedom.

Is that a bad thing? Or am I being very smart?

I'm not sure.

But I'm exploring it in an article.

I'll let you know when it's done.

Some Thoughts

“Become so good of a leader that you constantly help people become a better version of themselves.” ~ Codie Sanchez

Avoiding errors in decision-making moves the needle more than anything else in your projects. By avoiding errors we can avoid re-work, wasted time, wasted budget and angry stakeholders.

Let’s consider a hypothetical project manager, Sarah, as she faces decisions that will feel all too familiar to you.

How often do you get involved in competition? Maybe a sports competition? A quiz? A game night? Not too often anymore right? We tend to leave most of that in childhood. But I'd like to encourage you to do the opposite. Compete. For fun or in a semi-serious way. It adds something back into life. And that's a great thing.

Until next time,

Welcome to our weekly newsletter! 30 March 2025 Hey friend, I stepped back into something that I dabble with occasionally: making apps. I have zero coding skills but it's still fun to try and make things. And with AI it's even more fun. Anyone out there want to help me mess around with apps? Let me know 😎 Some Thoughts Do your values align with those of your team? Do your team’s values align with those of the wider organisation? When values clash, there is constant frustration. But discussing...

Welcome to our weekly newsletter! 16 March 2025 Hey friend, I spent the last week thinking about the cost/benefit of my work. Am I doing too much? Is it costing me too much in other areas of my life? Should I be proud of myself for my efforts or should I be going harder? Do you ever wonder the same thing? Some Thoughts Intensity is common. Consistency is rare. New Years Resolutions. Super strict eating plans. A reading habit. All of these are areas where we apply intensity. We do them for a...

Welcome to our weekly newsletter! 09 March 2025 Hey friend, I started a new project. Creating a tool for something I get asked for constantly. Incessantly. "What happened when?" When did Mr Z email you? How many weeks ago did we start doing Y? This leads to me searching through mountains of emails for an answer. So I'm building a tool to help solve this issue. Stay tuned. Some Thoughts “The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own...
